The Azimut 72S is the epitome of sporty elegance. It boasts a roomy flybridge similar to the one on the 103S—a first for an Open yacht of this size. A teak and steel stairway accesses the flybridge and its helm. Azimut partnered with AISR in designing the two large chaise lounges aft. A sofa, table and cabinet refrigerator are forward. The three-way adjustable ergonomic driver’s seat in gold and beige leather with mother-of-pearl ABS adornments has a new-generation joystick. The Raymarine control pad interfaces with a fifteen-inch touch screen to control GPS navigation and onboard systems.
In the cockpit are a pearl and gold C-shaped bench with a double table that converts to a sunpad. A cabinet integrates a retractable sink, a refrigerator, and a barbecue. A canvas shade pulls out from the rear of the flybridge. On the port side, cushions hide access to the two-person seaman’s cabin with its own head.
The large garage holds a 3.2 meter tender; an Opacmare crane simplifies launching. The swim platform lowers electrically 50 cm below the water surface; it can also store a jet ski weighing up to 500 kg.
On the main deck, glass doors and a power-controlled glass ceiling flood the salon with light during the day; indirect radiant lighting adds intimacy at night. The six-person wood and metallic glass dining table can expand to seat eight. The tops of the two L-shaped sofas and poufs in ivory buffalo seem suspended above brown leather. Floors are zebrawood alternating with wool bouclet carpeting.
The central helm station is equipped with the Raymarine G series instrumentation, Motronica and the new joystick with Easy Docking, and the trolling system on the ZF reversing gears. The two white leather seats are power-adjustable. The carbon-fiber-laminated lateral door opens electrically for quick crew access.
On the lower deck, the galley is outfitted with Miele appliances: wine-cooler, dishwasher, oven, and four-burner glass ceramic cooktop below two openable portholes. The magnolia lacquer is an Azimut-exclusive, by Boffi. A Hoover washer-drier hides in the gangway to the master cabin.
The three cabins each have a private head with zebrawood floors that have been treated for impermeability and slip-resistance; laminated glass and gold leaf sinks; and lacquered, metalized-wood countertops.
Beneath the famous square of windows in the master cabin is a dinette that includes a vanity and tray top. The iBoat® audio system is connected to the Azimut 72S’s Bose system. The bedframe is upholstered in dark brown leather; headboard and ceiling panels are in buffalo-print leather. The walk-in closet holds a large wardrobe with fold-out mirror, chest of drawers, and extra storage spaces.
The VIP cabin has a double drawer under the bed and six other storage spaces. Large windows light the cabin during the day; luminous doors are inviting in the evening. The guest cabin has twin beds and private bath.
