ACCORDING TO BERTRAM...
The newest Bertram Factory Demonstrator, Moppie 570, is the first Bertram to employ ‘comfort logic’ — a well-known term and priority within the Ferretti Group family.
Unlike most convertibles today, the Bertram 570 places maximum emphasis on ultimate comfort and, in turn, complete enjoyment. “People are going to be able to see first hand how uniquely advanced this boat really is,” said Jose Millan who manages the demonstrator program at Bertram Yacht. “When someone says 570 you think deep-V, true BERTRAM, luxury, performance and a proven fish raiser after ARB’s 1st place overall in the 2004 BBC series. While the 570 has a great reputation we wanted to improve on it with some of the latest technology and manufacturing techniques — and we did just that.”
This year, BERTRAM YACHT is partnering with the same winning team: Alutecnos, suffix, Map-Tech, Northstar and, of course, WBS Team Capt. Ken Duell and Team Endurance. “This year we really raise the bar utilizing new ZF MARINE technology and the exclusive Mitsubishi ARG system that brings unheard of comfort to the tournament tour,” added Millan.
Bertram will showcase the advantages of ZF Marine with ‘Moppie’s’ efficient fixedpitch ZF/Faster Propulsion System propellers matched to a ZF Marine singlespeed transmission with Super Shift controlled by tournament-style single lever Smart Command electronic controls. This package delivers added comfort, reduced vibration, increased safety and increased reliability while improving performance matched with the CAT C32s.
BERTRAM’s commitment to higher comfort called for building this 570 with double sound insulation and special attention to quiet zones, utilizing manufacturing techniques that only work when built in the Bertram method. But the ‘comfort logic’ topper has to be the exclusive Mitsubishi AntiRollGyro (ARG) system. Ferretti Group has been testing this exclusive gyro stabilizer for several years and is now the exclusive licensed European yacht builder for the ARG system — and BERTRAM is the only sportfish builder with this system.
The 570 will have the ARG MSM-2000 CI A, which enables drastic reduction of the boat’s motion while at rest, at anchor, kite fishing or on a deep drop, as well reducing rough sea roll on the troll.
The gyro system works with a simple on/off button, does not require periodic maintenance, uses only a single source of electricity and is completely enclosed to provide safety from any internal moving parts. And, more importantly, the ARG does not protrude from the hull and impede performance or add risk in landing fish like traditional fin stabilizers.
Be sure to check out the 570 Moppie on the tournament tour and at the big shows. When you see the blue LED lighting on the beautiful tower and the special silver-blue Imron metal reflective paint on her hull, helm and tower it will sure make a lasting impression. But, it’s what you won’t see ‘rolling on the troll’ and what you won’t be able to hear that sets BERTRAM and the Moppie comfortably above the rest.
